HIS year Student Government has proved more successful than ever                              before, much of its success being due to the work of the four departments.
At the beginning of each term the Publicity Department distributed
letters welcoming the Freshmen, secured the poll tax of approximately one thousand students and assisted Miss Woodward with Community Chest subscriptions, collecting, by April fifteenth, three-fourths of the five hundred dollars pledged by the Student Body. This department also conducted a study campaign and encouraged students to go to class supplied with their necessary equipment.
The Public Service Department issued permits to those students regularly excused before three-fifteen and at the front doors stationed members whose duty it was to allow only those holding permits to leave the building. 'I'his department also attempted to improve the appearance of Home Rooms.
Much credit is due the Traffic Department for the improved conduct in the auditorium and in the halls. It has also encouraged pupils to be in their Home Rooms by five minutes to nine. There was a noticeable improvement in the order of the line in the cafeteria during the past year.
The Lunch Room Department worked hard to solve the problem caused by the crowded conditions and met with singular success. One of the most outstanding accomplishments of this year’s Council was the presentation of the Citizenship award to the Senior who has meant most to the School.
