being postponed for a week due to threatening weather, Homecoming '95 opened at Churchland Stadium under cloudy skies.
The crowd came with high ex-pectations and the Homecoming Court was looking good, Wilson's football team, on a building vear, faced their cross town rival, the Greyhounds of Norcom. Both teams were exper-iencing disappointing sea-sons. The Presidents had plans to impound the dogs but fate looked the other way. After a valiant effort, the final score was Norcom 16, Wilson 6. Again, Wilson came close but this just wasn't their night. Halftime arrived with the usual fanfare as the Marching Presidents took the field.
The time everyone was waiting for had arrived. The Homecoming Court was introduced. Looking sharp was the order of the event with some students almost unrecognizable in their finery. The Freshman Class was represented by Antwan Merritt and Tiana Wright. Jermaine Newsome and Brooke Smith represented the Sophomore Class and Mr. and Ms. Junior were Laurice Purham and Tamika Robinson. Nicholas Clark and Shonelle Ricks were Mr. and Ms. Senior, The Highlight of the pageant was the crowning of Sonya Ellott as Homecoming Queen and Robert Stitt as Homecoming King.
Ms. Odom and her hard working staff did an outstanding job setting up the festivities.
