This section of the website is dedicated to the memories of all alumni and are found in personal items that alumni have saved and were kind enough to allow it to be shared with others.  Thank You. GIRLS TRACK 
Shander Gary (below) and Juliet Gainey (right) are leading team members in the shot-put and discus throws. They are both 
senior members of the track team. 
Coach Valerie Mundy says, “We'll finish high in the standings, but with the majority of the team being freshmen, we'll have our 
work cut out for us.”
Returning members of the team: Shaveeta Jones (110 hurdles, triple jump, long jump, relays, 300 m. hurdles); Sandra Golden (100 m. and relays); Anita Cross (100 m. and relays) — Newcomers to the squad 
this year include Yolanda Hines, Michelle Sessoms, Marita Lawrence, Latitia Elliott and 
Latisha Stewart. Also beginning their first year in competition are Lakiesha Rodgers, Latrice Griffin, Mahasen Hasan, and 
Tanisha Finney.

BOYS VARSITY TRACK 
   Nine track team members returned 
this year for a stronger and more 
competitive season. Veterans were 
Sanford Dowell, Timothy Morris, 
Darrell Oliver, Melvin Harrell, Antonio 
Hines, Virgil Moore, Dwight Wiggins, 
Ronald Boone, Warzell Pierce, and 
Anthony Hyshaw. 
   Newcomers were Bruce Deloatch, 
Shawn Dowell, Hugh Hunter, Marki 
Lashley, Angelo Epps, Donte 
Shepard, Quincy Jones, Hiawatha 
Brown, and Bryant Young.
Anthony Hyshaw is happy about a final 
outcome. Ray Hicks and excited track fans are in the background. 
Hiawatha Brown finds his “second wind.” 

Mike High lives up to his name by making an unusually “high” throw. 
Antonio Hines gives it his best “shot.”

   Eighth graders served as alternates 
this year and gained valuable 
experience. They were Antwane Grant, 
Dennis Strawther, and David 
McCullough. 
   Coach Kenny Rodgers served as 
coach for the fifth consecutive year. He 
felt that this was one of the “better 
years” because of the strong veterans 
and powerful newcomers.

VARSITY 
BASEBALL 
Tommy Perrault (Class of ’89) and 
Coach McGinley confer on the pitcher’s mound. Tommy was the recipient of the “BIG STICK” and “MVP” Awards. He maintained a 429 batting average and a 946 DEF. average.
