In the summer of 1992, Dr. Trumble, Superintendent, and the school board voted to convert Wilson to a middle school in 1993. So, with the eminent closure of Wilson ahead, this yearbook will aspire to depict “monumental” memories to capture the spirit and pride which are Woodrow Wilson High School. The staff dedicates this book to all Wilson Presidents — past, present, and future.

PRESIDENTS
Are Busy, Busy!!
Woodrow Wilson High School opened its doors for the 84th time this year. The first day was filled with the usual schedule changes and lost students trying to find their rooms. Three new prin- cipals took over this year. Mr. Urquhart took charge of the eighth grade. Two former Wilson teachers became part of the administrative staff. Mr. Hopkins and Mrs. Shep- herd took over as principal and assistant principal, re- spectively.
However, the old favorites did remain. The Marching Presidents are still ‘‘steppin” under the leadership of Mr. Carver. The football team is
till pounding its opponents, but they received new leader- ship. With the loss of former coach Darnell Moore, assis- tant coach, Joe Ladisic, took over. The cheerleaders are still at the games and the pep rallies, cheering the team onto victory.
Yearbook sales began the second week of school. The fact that this may be Wilson’s final year provided motiva- tion for all staff members. As the students left the school for their buses or car rides home, they are left with the memorable sign, ‘“GO BIG BLUE,” because Wilson High
will always be a part of their lives.

HOMECOMING 1992
Prexies, Past and Present, Party!
The Homecoming Pep Rally was full of celebrating Prexies. The chorus sang several songs from the 60’s. The drama club presented a musical skit in which they lip-synched a song dressed in bath robes and curlers in their hair. The marching Presidents thundered down the aisles as their music roared. Harvey Siegel, from the class of ‘67, talked about high school life in ‘67. The dance group “Twins and Co.” per-formed. Then Shanté Holland did her ‘School Spirit’ rap along with her dancers. Each class nominated represent-atives: 8th grade — Laurie Madden, Robin Wooden, and Brandon Wiggins; Freshmen — Ancetra Crocker, Lertisha Brinkley, Tonee Oglesby, and Ronnie Shaw; Sophomores —
Latoya Austin, Shawanna Jones, and Jason Lewis; Juniors — Tonya Standifer, Tawana Faulks, Dennis Strawther, and Dwayne Artis; Seniors — Katrice Turner, Marianne Jackson, Eatrika Phelps, Tracey Bradshaw, and Todd Brooks. The Mighty Presidents
were in high spirits after scor-ing the first touchdown of the game. At half-time all the club and grade level representatives were presented. And finally, the highlight of the evening was the crowning of the Home-coming Queen, Tracey Brad-shaw and King, Todd Brooks.
