This was an active year for Wilson’s Drama Club. For the Christmas production, Danyelle Basham and Christine Peirce wrote a play based on O. Henry’s story, ‘The Gift of the Magi’’. Not only did the club put on a performance for the spring of 1993, but they also attended Festival, a gathering of drama clubs from various high schools. At Festival, the Drama Club competed against the other high schools with plays. The Drama Club performed Impromptu, a four character play.
FRENCH CLUB
A Busy Year!
The French Club exists to deepen the understanding and interest in the Francophone or French-speaking world. This world includes not only France, but other countries like Haiti, Switzerland, Morocco, the Ivory Coast and the province of Quebec.
In the fall, the club had two French college students as guest speakers and went on a field trip to “Le Charlieu'’, a French restaurant in Norfolk. In December they participated in French Christmas caroling. They also watched several French movies and enjoyed a trip to the Chrysler museum to view the impressionist art. During Foreign Language week in March, the French Club participated in many activities associated with that week. The French Club is sponsored bv Mrs. Cochrane.

FUTURE BUSINESS LEADERS OF AMERICA
   Future Business Leaders of
America is an organization that is open only to business education students. The co-curricular nature of FBLA, combining instruction, experience and activity, makes
the organization an integral part of the business education  pro-gram. Monthly meetings were
held every third Wednesday of each month, with the following student officers presiding: Lakisha Cherry, President; Shaunita Lassiter, Vice-President; Tracy Townsend, Secretary; Angelena Stephenson, Treasurer; and Paula Brown, Reporter.
Various social activities were planned for the members this year, such as pizza parties, Christmas party, and a spring party. Fundraisers for the year included selling candy, donuts, calendars and other various items. They also adopted Maryview Pediatric wing. Members attended the annual Fall Work-shop on Saturday October 17 at Norfolk State University.
The FBLA MART is a store also operated by the FBLA. This MART, which was managed by Lakisha Cherry and Jamila Evans, sells school supplies and other student items.
   FBLA students went to
Reston, Virginia for their Spring Convention and Kings Dominion at the end of the year.
Mrs. Shirley Frerebee is head sponsor of the FBLA. She is assisted by Mrs. Caviness, Mrs. Lawrence, Mrs. Linyear, Mrs. Mobley and Mrs. Williams.
