Boys And Girls Track
The Lady Presidents were paced all season by Jenita Harris who was second in the district in the 100 meter hurdles. Jenita qualified for the Regional and State Track meets. She also continued an outstanding Wilson track tradition by qualifying for the “High School National Track & Field Championships” in Raleigh, North Cardina. Jenito placed 16th in the 100M high hurdles and 20th in the 300 meter hurdles. Also, performing well in quad meets were Chamae Barringer (hurdles & jumps), Terri Rivera (hurdles), and Christine Farrell (jumps and throws).
Running For The Goal
The Boys were led by dis-tance runners Kenya Edwards and Antonio Hawkins. Both Kenya and Antonio qualified for the Eastern Regional Track  Championships. Kenya also  qualified for the Va. State  Track & Field Championships  and placed 11th. Both the girl  & boys track teams were  coached by Ken Dugan.
Cross Country Has Winning Season
GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY

The girls had a good season  finishing the regular season with  3 wins and one loss. During the  Eastern District tournament, the  girls finished 3rd overall from a  field of 8 teams. The Wilson girls  cross country team qualified for  the regional by finishing among  the top 4 teams in the district championship. The team is young and with alot of hard work they will continue to improve.

BOYS CROSS COUNTRY

The boys had a very good sea-son. After losing two top runners  in South Hampton roads to graduation, this was expected to be a rebuilding year. However, the boys finished the reqular season with 3 wins and 1 loss. The boys cross country team wasn’t expected to do well at all but finished 2nd overall in the 8 team  field Eastern district championship and qualified for the regionals by being among the top 4 teams in the district.
Wilson Baseball Team
The Wilson Varsity Baseball Team had a successful season considering the team was very young. With only 2 seniors on the team, Jason Morgan & Mike Livesay, Wilson still managed to play competitive baseball throughout the season and get key wins over Oscar Smith, Churchland, and Indian River.
The strengths of the team were Jason Morgan's powerful bat, Brandon Todd’s consistent batting average (545 for the season) and Nate Anthony and Laurice Purham’s pitching performances. The weak-nesses of the team were lack of experience and timely hits in certain situations. The team was coached by Billy Kline.
Full Of Young Sluggers
JV. Boys ... Hit And Run
Our J.V. Baseball team post- ed the best record at Wilson, winning 9 games and losing 5. The team finished 2nd in the Southeastern district and was led by the pitching of Dennis Self and Aaron Short. The best hitters were Dennis Self and Travis Younger. In the field, Ricky Pope and Matt Yoder led the J.V. Presidents in fielding. The Presidents were coached by Mr. Steve Cassell.
